Amigurumis Have Arrived!

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll.

These adorable little creatures are great gifts for kids and adults alike! Use them as party favors, or baby shower decorations!

Currently I have penguins, frogs, owlets, bunnies, cats, elephants, and polar bears. I'm always taking special requests! Email me at briannesbasics@ymail.com for more information!

Ryan is Coasting For Kids again! July 24!

My amazing husband Ryan has decided to once again participate in Coasting For Kids!

Last year's event was a blast. Ryan started at 730am and rode Jaguar until 5pm, over 100 rides with only a lunch break and a few rest stops. The entire group raised over $800.

And he's at it again! He decided to do, since he had such a great time and it was for such a great cause, Give Kids The World Village.

You can see pictures and video at http://misadventuresofamommy.com/2010/07/31/ryan-vs-jaguar-give-kids-the-world-wins/

Soon we'll be doing fundraisers to earn even more money this year. Stay tuned for those announcements!

Stitch Markers!

I absolutely love cute stitch markers, but I hate spending $5-10 per set! Plus, I want stitch markers that reflect me and why I crochet/knit. So I decided to make my own! I may be selling these soon. They're too cute to not share!

Brianne's Basics Now Sold In A Local Boutique!

I have a very exciting announcement! Brianne's Basics crochet items are now being sold in Kidz Head 2 Toe! Kidz Head 2 Toe is a local Long Beach kid's resale boutique.

We are a family owned children's resale boutique. Our goal is to be an enviromentally friendly resource to the local community by selling gently used Name Brand children's clothing and products at prices you can afford. We also feature new unique products from local crafters!

Currently we have our Crochet Hairbows being sold in the store! We'll be expanding soon to include headbands, clips, flowers, beanies, and more.

A large portion of our profits will be used to make beanies for the troops. So stop in and check out their amazing store, and get your hairbows too!

You can find their store at 5467 E Carson Street in Long Beach, CA 90808. Their phone number is (562) 627-5438. Be sure to "like" their Facebook page as well!

Models Needed!

I'm in search of a few "models" to model my bows, headbands, beanies and flowers. I'm looking for kids, girls (all products) and boys (beanies only). If your daughter has an 18 inch doll (American Girl, etc.), even better!

In exchange for pictures, you get to keep the product, plus coupons for future purchases. If you're interested, please email me at 4briannesbasics@gmail.com or message me at www.facebook.com/BriannesBasics

Thank you!

Coffee Cozies!

Coffee cozies are an eco friendly and fun way to keep your drinks hot or cold (and protect your hands!). Available in a variety of colors and designs!

Dolls!

I made this crochet doll for a friend. She has a very cute graphics line and wanted to see what a doll might look like. We both agreed, she turned out so adorable! You may see these dollies for sale online very soon...

Hand Sanitizer Holders

If you're a mom like me, you use hand sanitizers quite often! You're always using sanitizers on hands, carts, toys, and more. Why not combine fashion and cleanliness with these adorable hand sanitizer holders! Comes with the hand sanitizer as well. You choose the yarn and button color.

Beanies For Lia's Kibbies

Yesterday I was introduced to an amazing charity, one born of love and loss. My friend Ms. MommyLebron (http://mommylebron.wordpress.com) tweeted me about Lia's Kibbies (http://liaskibbies.blogspot.com)

About Lia's Kibbies: "My husband and I lost our daughter due to preterm labor on November 16th, 2010. We grieve her loss, but also hold our hope in the God that now holds her in His arms. A great comfort for us has been the small afghan made by someone and donated to the hospital for new babies. Lia is our daughters nickname, and when I was little, blankets were "kibbies" instead of covers. So the project Lia's Kibbies was born!"

I have felt the loss of an unborn child twice in my life. I do feel her pain, literally. And I absolutely love what she's doing. They donate blankets and beanies to the NICU.

Everyone knows I make/sell beanies, then use the sales to make beanies for the troops. So I have decided to help Lia's Kibbies.

Now, for every kid beanie we sell, I'm using the sales & purchasing yarn to make beanies for Lia's Kibbies. One skein can make 6-8 baby beanies.

If you have a child in your life, please consider purchasing a kid's beanie. They make great gifts.

Thank you for your continued support!
