Amigurumis Have Arrived!
Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll.
These adorable little creatures are great gifts for kids and adults alike! Use them as party favors, or baby shower decorations!
Currently I have penguins, frogs, owlets, bunnies, cats, elephants, and polar bears. I'm always taking special requests! Email me at briannesbasics@ymail.com for more information!

Ryan is Coasting For Kids again! July 24!
My amazing husband Ryan has decided to once again participate in Coasting For Kids!
Last year's event was a blast. Ryan started at 730am and rode Jaguar until 5pm, over 100 rides with only a lunch break and a few rest stops. The entire group raised over $800.
And he's at it again! He decided to do, since he had such a great time and it was for such a great cause, Give Kids The World Village.
You can see pictures and video at http://misadventuresofamommy.com/2010/07/31/ryan-vs-jaguar-give-kids-the-world-wins/
Soon we'll be doing fundraisers to earn even more money this year. Stay tuned for those announcements!

Beanies For Lia's Kibbies
Yesterday I was introduced to an amazing charity, one born of love and loss. My friend Ms. MommyLebron (http://mommylebron.wordpress.com) tweeted me about Lia's Kibbies (http://liaskibbies.blogspot.com)
About Lia's Kibbies: "My husband and I lost our daughter due to preterm labor on November 16th, 2010. We grieve her loss, but also hold our hope in the God that now holds her in His arms. A great comfort for us has been the small afghan made by someone and donated to the hospital for new babies. Lia is our daughters nickname, and when I was little, blankets were "kibbies" instead of covers. So the project Lia's Kibbies was born!"
I have felt the loss of an unborn child twice in my life. I do feel her pain, literally. And I absolutely love what she's doing. They donate blankets and beanies to the NICU.
Everyone knows I make/sell beanies, then use the sales to make beanies for the troops. So I have decided to help Lia's Kibbies.
Now, for every kid beanie we sell, I'm using the sales & purchasing yarn to make beanies for Lia's Kibbies. One skein can make 6-8 baby beanies.
If you have a child in your life, please consider purchasing a kid's beanie. They make great gifts.
Thank you for your continued support!

INTRODUCING... Brianne's Bouquets!

I'd like to introduce you to something very unique, beautiful, and from the heart.
On Sunday, I was at a Bridal Show at Skylinks. There were two florists there, who made gorgeous floral arrangements. I smiled, thinking back to my own wedding. And also got a bit sad, thinking how I wished I could've kept my bouquet, or at the very least one flower.
And that's how the idea of Brianne's Bouquets was born.
Brianne's Bouquets are special event keepsakes, for weddings, proms, graduations, Valentine's Day, etc.
The bouquets include two handmade crochet roses, in your color choice. Each rose is on a mini stake, suitable to place in your bouquet. Or we can work with you to make them into a corsage, or perhaps a pin. You also receive a small clay pot, with accent leaves and an embellishment on the front of the clay pot.
You choose the colors for your special event. Add mini roses in your children's favorite colors. Other embellishments are also available, such as a mini frame to carry a memory of your loved one.
There are three sizes available. Small roses measure 2 inches tall. Medium roses measure 3 inches tall. Large roses measure 3.5 inches tall.
These special event keepsakes are very affordably priced, ranging from $15-30.
Brianne's Bouquets will be on sale in our etsy store, on Facebook, or at our FB fan page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at briannesbouquets {at} gmail {dot} com

If you're here via the Golden Globes... WELCOME
Thanks for stopping by my website! The basics of what we do: we're a 100% PIF store. We make and sell handmade craft items, and donate 100% of our sales to various charities and events.
This is a labor of love, by my entire family. I'm Heather, the crafter and owner. My husband Ryan helps with shipping. And quite often my mom purchases the supplies.
Our current big items are "Brianne's Beanies" and Awareness Flowers/Hearts. We've also started making crochet ribbons!
100% of every beanie sale goes to purchase more skeins of yarn. Then, each skein makes 2-3 scarves or beanies for the troops and for chemo caps.
If you have any questions, want to place an order, etc., please feel free to email me at 4briannesbasics {at} gmail {dot} com
Thank you so much for stopping by, and thank you for your support!
